Suicide Squad

Good lord but I love this movie, layer upon layer upon layer....

"Question.  Would you die for me?"
"Yes."

"Thats too easy.  Would you live for me?  Mmmm?"
"Yes"

"Careful.  Do not say this oath thoughtlessly... Desire becomes surrender, surrender becomes power.  Do you want this?"

"I do."

"Say it.  Say it.  Say it.  Pretty pretty pretty pretty...."
"Please."

Watched it so many times, loving it all over again tonight.

"Own that shit.  Own it!  What did you think was gonna happen?  Huh?"

"Hey Harley come on."

"What... you were just gonna have a happy family and coach little league and  make car payments?  Normal is a setting on the dryer!  People like us, we don't get normal!

"Why is it always a knife fight every single time you open your mouth?  Outside you're amazing.  But inside you're ugly."

"We all are.  We all are!"

Particularly love 21 Pilots in there.... shame the song wasn't in the actual  movie, it deserves more than the credits

A Day of Music

I haven't listened to Spotify for so long it's not funny.  With FB running too, they would jam up my laptop to the point of having to hit the power switch to shut the damn thing down for a reboot....

Am loving the music in the background today.... Falling in love with some songs all over again.  I'm a lyric listener, gotta have lyrics that touch the soul to be a good song!

Catching Up in the North Island

So Birthday Surprise is done and dusted and the car packed and we head to the ferry!  Smooth sailing, gas up with fuel that is over 30 cents cheaper than we pay here (what the fuck is up with that?!) and made it to Tauranga :)  Stayed with someone very dear to my heart even if she is grumpy as hell when on nightshift hahahaha and visited with another someone who is very dear to my heart and then took Bear to the beach in Mt Maunganui before we left town, altho he was a bit overwhelmed with the wide open spaces, which is fair enough he doesn't even venture outside at home yet, he's only just hit 11 weeks!  So he played in some bushes there for a while LOL.

And off we head to Auckland!!!  We see mum first... Not such a good day when we rock up in the afternoon just before dinner, no real recognition there at all initially, but we did have Bear with us and he was a distraction...  The 2nd visit the next morning was amazing, mum was in the lounge with many others listening to a guy singing there for them all, Marcus and I snuck in beside mum and sat on the floor beside her chair and the recognition was instant and enthusiastic, she initiated contact with Marcus by stroking his cheek and his hair which she hasn't done before and it was just a beautiful hour there listening to the music with her.  One song was poignant and mum was holding my hand stroking it and the tears were just streaming down my face, there was no hiding them, I was nearly dehydrated afterwards!  And after the song finished the singer asked if I was OK LOL.  I said "oh yes" and he gave us one of his CD's hahahahaha!!!  The next day's visit was equally as good and that one involved Bear again.  She engaged with him too, gave him a couple of cuddles and laughed her ass off when he was running and slid into the wall (it was funny!!!!) and then our last visit before we had to head off again, was at breakfast time and altho she knew who I was it was not a good time of day for her :(  But so so lovely to see her have a couple of great days like that, best I've seen her since she's been in there, so really nice to share some nice times with her and Marcus like that.

Got to see the rest of the family in Auckland too which is always lovely when Marcus is there too to spend some time with his little cousins, nothing much has changed since January, Marcus is able to wind them all up till the parents are telling them all off LOL.

Stayed with some amazing people I have recently met in the journey to start up BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) in Marlborough, I have never met such welcoming people as some of these BACA people... you want to start this up?  You are family!  Just like that :)  Smiley and Rowdy (every BACA person has a "roadname" are the most awesome hosts and feel very lucky to count and be counted by them as friends.  Had a BBQ there on Thursday night (Anzac day) before we headed off south again.  Great company, fun times

And I got to catch up with a few of the biking buddies ex FaceBook on Thursday too.  We took a sprint out to Mercer and had great laughs, gossips and bullshit session with a few of the Kiwi Truckin' Bikers.  Shit I miss the peeps from FB but dragging a couple of them over to MeWe(.com) which is like FB used to be 15 yrs ago LOL, not that I want MeWe to get busy, I like having time to "do life" back again!  LOL

And then south again.  Stopped in with Brenna on the way home, awesome inappropriate dinner conversation (sorry Brenna, it was just too much fun taking the piss out of the kid LOL) Marcus once again fell in love with her GSD (no photos this time, but here is one from January when we were there on the bike)

And stopped in just up the road to catch up with a pretty cool chick there too, and Bear got to play with her young Collie :)

And after another smooth sailing, we are home again... missing people, a little teary at times, but home with my babies now and sadly back to work on Monday!  Thank God it'll be pay week to help cheer me up LMAO.  Another adventure done for now.... P.S. the tiny terror hasn't stopped playing hard out since we arrived home 3 1/2 hours ago LOL

Helicopter fun in Kaikoura!!!

hey it's not something we do every year, just like the one and only son doesn't become a teenager every year, so I splashed out and we hit the road on the bike this morning heading south to Kaikoura.  Beautiful weather, not much traffic on the roads and it was a quick trip :)

HEAPS of vids and photos, FB would have copped some punishment loading some of those up, but I'll limit it in here LOL.

Awesome flight, lasted an hour, Marcus nominated Subway for lunch and then headed home again.

Part of the seal colony
The Sperm Whale we came to see who didn't want to dive again!

About the same length as the whale watching boats which are 18m long
Excuse the glare but the dolphins were playing too!  TONS of them :)

The Alpine Landing

About to get in the chopper at base

Still snow in the ranges

Beautiful spot to check out the scenery

Thanks to Aaron our pilot for taking a couple of pics of us too

Birthdays, Teenagers and Holidays

Well tomorrow my one and only (ain't no slow learner here!) turns the grand 13....

We are heading to Kaikoura to do a helicopter flight to see some whales.  It's an hour long flight, checks out the whales and does an Alpine landing too.  I LOVE choppers, would love to get my license for them, and I'm absolutely positive the boy child will love the flight for his birthday.

It's all a surprise so he doesn't know we're jumping on the bike and heading south tomorrow morning, not quite sure what to tell him to keep it a surprise to be honest!  Will be able to test out the heated handgrips on the bike too, yeehaa, that will make winter riding a lot more fun!

And then since it's Easter weekend and next week Thursday is a public holiday for ANZAC Day (lest we forget) I've taken 3 days annual leave and we have the whole week off, so Sunday morning we are on the ferry  heading north to see the family in Auckland and my besties in the Bay of Plenty.  Taking the car because the 10 week old kitten Bear will be traveling with us... photos will come for each of those occasions later!

Welcome Back Life!!!!

OK, fast background... over 10 yrs on FB, using it as an online diary, entertaining my friends, posting shit I like to save, thinking that my boy child will have a forever record of his mum's rantings when I fall off the perch, like some other deceased friends whose accounts still exist without them... It was my life, accurate, funny, inspiring, and soaked up waaaaaaaaaay too much of my life.  But you know, the Universe has a way of throwing you where you need to be, and I've learned to trust that, which brings me to the sooooooo part...

Sooooooo, here was me with no life but work and FB, and my boarder's son had shifted down here and hey presto all our internet was used up and we dropped to dial up speed (OMG, how did we do ANYTHING when all there was was dial up?!)  A day later I sorted a new plan, got my FB back and less than 1/2 an hour later, mid typing a comment, I disappeared!!!!

POOF!

gone....

"Your account has been disabled as ineligible"

So I contacted them and said "hey!  Can you check this please?  Been with you 10 yrs and am sole admin on a couple of pages, don't really need to be disabled mistakenly!  Thanks :) "

They looked and said nah, fuck off, you're ineligible, you're disabled, are not going to justify our decision so we're gonna mention Privacy Laws so we don't have to...

And just like that, 10 yrs of my life is gone, without a trace, like I never existed there at all... That was quite scary in truth, how easily I was erased.

And then I stopped to think about how the hell that could have happened... and you know what I remembered?  About 3 days prior I did one of their little surveys that appeared in my newsfeed and at the end where it asked what they could do to make the experience of FB better, I answered honestly....  We had had a "massacre" here in NZ a couple of weeks prior, a white supremacist who went into a mosque (two in fact) and killed 51 people and wounded many more live streaming a vid of it on FB.  Well aside from some knee jerk reactions from our Govt. in relation to our gun laws, they put the pressure on FB BIG TIME about removing the vids and started squeezing FB on our radio news about holding THEM accountable for contributing by allowing radical groups on FB and how we would be DEMANDING that FB kick out all white supremacist and hate speech groups.  This was followed on the radio national news that other groups were going to DEMAND that FB remove other groups spreading lies and myths in relation to dangers of vaccinations.  So, scene set right?  I answered in the survey that they needed to be careful if you remove only SOME groups in relation to that but not all, and that they will be seen as puppets to the political powers in the background and that people will see them as curtailing the freedom of speech the entire world likes to lay claim to.  Then I suggested that live stream vids have a 5 second delay and get put thru a filter... hey presto, can't be hard LOL.

So that was it... That answer in the survey quite obviously cost me my FB account, because apart from saying "shit" and "fuck" a lot my account was squeaky clean...

And now I have my life back, because FB WAS an addiction and I couldn't put it aside voluntarily, I loved seeing what my friends were doing, love encouraging them, empathising with them when they lose a loved pet or family member.  Loved seeing the photos, and sharing mine.  So convenient!!!  But an addiction nonetheless and it's nice to have it broken.

You know what the kicker is tho?  Good lord, the amount of things that happen during the day I automatically think of posting up to share on FB and I can't!!!  Stupid little things, but things that my friends would engage in with me, laugh with me, be entertained for a couple of seconds, or minutes, or days if the rambling comments went well, I miss that interaction, I miss sharing my stuff in a place where I can go back and be reminded of things.  The amount of funny stuff Marcus has done and said over the years that made it to FB and then would pop up in memories that even I had forgotten had happened, I loved that online diary aspect of it all.  I have no dedication to writing in a diary by hand, believe me, I've tried over the years!

So I thought of blogging instead... Really just for me, for Marcus after I'm gone, for anyone that is bored enough to want to read the shit I spout forth LOL.

And I can do it with minimal time input, so I won't be hours and hours and hours cruising thru a newsfeed and reacting to everything :)

So, welcome to my life outside of FB...

Spring Sprang, Summer Fizzed, I wonder where the Grasses Iz!!!

HAHAHA, Spring did leap into action, got more fertiliser on paddocks, but it ended up being a bit of a fizzer in the hay cutting area this ...
